I confess sometime I don’t know who is playing in the World Series. I confess some days I don’t know what to wear to work. I confess each week I have a hard time deciding what books to choose for “Pam’s Picks.”

Not this week, and if you have not guessed by now, “Pam’s Pick,” is the ever popular John Grisham with “The Confession.” How’s that for clever. One man is about to be executed for a crime he did not commit. The real killer, recently paroled, because he has an inoperable brain tumor, confesses. However no one believes him.

Next, James Patterson’s “Don’t Blink.” You blink, you die. The scariest Mafia thriller since the Godfather! Lawyers, Journalists, Assassination and gangs. Wow!

Up next, “Spider Bones” by Kathy Reichs, Temperance Brennan, forensic anthropologist, is called in to solve a case in which a man has been buried twice, many years apart and in different places. Do you ever watch Temperance on the Fox TV series, “Bones?”

But wait…my Non-fiction “Picks” are just as fascinating. “White House Diary” by Jimmy Carter, has many interesting highlights. It’s personally annotated and filled with insight into his presidency.

Follow up with Tony Blair, “A Journey.” Tony Blair is a politician who has defined our times since 1994 when he emerged as a Liberal Party leader in British politics. And for a change of pace, “Composed” by Rosanne Cash. This is a memoir of an artist finding her voice and finding her way in the context of her family legacy.

Whoops. I confess, I forgot another well known author, Vince Flynn. “American Assassin,” is another thriller. Meet a new group of clandestine operatives who will work outside the normal CIA chain of command, men who do not exist!
