Trigg County High School junior Morgan Parker is one of two Kentucky student-athletes selected to represent the state at the 22nd annual Down Under Sports Tournaments in Australia this summer.

Parker will join other United States players to form one of 10 national teams competing at the International Sports Specialists, Inc. event in July.

“I was so excited when I found out that I had been selected,” Parker said. “The closer it gets, the more pumped I am, and I can’t wait to meet the team and get started with practice.”

Currently, Parker and parents Jeff and Darrie are seeking donations to help cover the $4,800 cost for the trip. For every $2 donation, the donor will be entered in a drawing for a trip for two to Australia.

Among other fundraisers will be a poker run at West Cadiz Park on April 10 and a horse show at the Trigg County Recreation Complex on April 24.

For more information or to donate (checks payable to International Sports Specialists, Inc.) contact the Parkers at 522-4364.
