After two days of intense, double elimination battle between several very good teams, the Pee-Wee Championship was held on Saturday July 28 at the Recreational Complex. It was a match-up sports fans had seen many times before, but never like this, the Red Sox versus the Yankees.

Activities started at 5:30 when the kids hit the field for pre-game warm-ups. There was an announcer that gave the game a more personalized feeling which the kids really enjoyed. They all had their name called when they went to the plate to bat as well as when they made a good defensive play.

The game started off fast and never slowed down too much. The Red Sox got off to an early 6-0 lead by hitting hard balls that the Yankees defense was not able to get to in time. The first inning did not look to good when the Yanks were looking at a 6-0 deficit and two outs against them until the rally monkey crept into their dugout and they were able to score three, two-out runs to make it 6-3.
