Have you seen all the football commercials with the men sitting around the living room or on the back patio watching Sunday afternoon football? It’s a man’s sport, right?

For the second week in a row the male football gurus of Trigg County have bitten the dust in their predictions of the weekly football contest while a female fan took home the weekly prize of $25. Penny Wallace only missed four of the games (as did last week’s winner Mildred Gratsy). Chris Reeves also came close to victory with four mistakes.

Mildred shouldn’t feel bad, however, as she was the only entry to pick the Arizona win over Baltimore.

It was the tiebreaker that did it for Penny. She picked 49 points as the highest point production by one of the listed teams last week. The correct score was the 48-27 win by Tennessee over Arkansas State that made the difference. Ironically, it was the 59-20 thrashing by Florida over Tennessee the week prior that was the top score that week.

For her entry, Penny will pick up $25 from The Cadiz Record and have her name entered in the final week prize of $300.

If you like to sit around on Monday telling all your buddies how you picked all the winners over the weekend, another contest is in this issue of the newspaper. It cost nothing to enter and you have the opportunity to take home $25 extra cash and have your name entered in a final contest drawing of $300.
