Funeral services for Plum Amelia Martin Baker, 89, of Cadiz, were conducted on Monday, June 2, 2008, at 1 p.m., at the Second Baptist Church in Cadiz.

Rev. C.L. Brown officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Crown Hill Cemetery in Cadiz.

Mrs. Baker died on Thursday, May 29, 2008, at 5:45 a.m., at Calvert City Nursing Center of natural causes.

Mrs. Baker was born on September 23, 1918, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Retrieve Martin.

Mrs. Baker was a retired teacher from the Trigg County School System with 24 years of service; formerly taught in Montgomery County, Tenn.; and was a member of the Second Baptist Church, where she served in various capacities including church secretary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Baker.

Survivors include a cousin, Sheridan Hollowell of Cerulean; a niece, Calandra Watts of New York, NY; a great niece, Michaela Burns of New York; and a great nephew, Jordan Burns of New York.

Gamble Funeral Home of Hopkinsville was in charge of all the arrangements.
