Eldora’s Books, Etc. will host a poetry reading from local poet and middle school teacher Brandy Woodall on April 17. Ezell said that April 17 is National Poem in Your Pocket Day. Portia Ezell, the owner of the store, said the idea is that you can select a poem you love and carry it in your pocket to show your friends, family and coworkers. She said she wanted to encourage people to bring their own poems so they could read them when Woodall was finished. The event will be from 4 to 5 p.m.

Woodall recently published her first book of poetry, “Living Over Caves.” She will also be giving a reading at the John L. Street Library on April 28 from 4 to 6 p.m. This is in celebration of National Poetry Month, which is throughout April.
