Officer Chad Grace of the Cadiz Police Department stopped 29-year-old Lamont Crump of 16 McRidley St., Cadiz for suspicion of Driving Under the Influence on October 26. Grace’s arrest report alleges that Crump was observed crossing a center line on Jefferson St. Upon stopping, Grace claimed that the suspect failed a field sobriety test. Blood samples were collected and submitted for further testing. This was Crump’s first DUI offense.
Cadiz Police Major Duncan Wiggins arrested Herbert Wharton, 52, of 5198 Caledonia Road on October 26 on the strength of a Trigg County Bench Warrant. Terms of the warrant and the original offense were not listed in the arrest report.
Officer Jeff Ethridge arrested Melissa M. Ward, 34, of Delmont Church Road, Cadiz on October 28 for suspicion of DUI and driving with a license suspended due to a previous DUI conviction. Ethridge’s report alleges that he stopped Ward for a traffic violation. Upon approaching the vehicle, Ethridge claimed he smelled the odor of alcoholic beverages, and that Ward failed a field sobriety test. A Breathalyzer test recorded Ward’s blood alcohol content at .190, more than twice the legal limit of .08. As this was Ward’s second arrest for DUI, she was also charged with not having a valid operator’s license after suspension from the first.
Officer Matt Dolezal arrested Jeffery A. Ellis, 41, with an address listed as Goodnite Motel Rm. 17 for allegedly violating the terms of an Emergency Protection/Domestic Violence order on October 28. The arrest report claims that the suspect has received and disregarded several warnings to avoid a particular address. Furthermore, the report claims that the suspect took out an EPO/DVO against the victim in the case and violated the terms of his own order.
