Police Chief Hollis Alexander identified the three suspects in custody as Shelby Ray Mart, 19 of Cadiz, Kevin Robertson, 30, possibly of Murray, and Josh Neeble, 22, also of Cadiz. Alexander tentatively identified the fourth suspect as Shawn Deloach, age and address unknown, as the wielder of the 9 mm pistol thought to be used in the shooting. None of the three men in custody carried weapons at the time of their arrest.
According to Alexander, the four men approached the intersection of Jefferson and Martindale in Cadiz with DeLoach allegedly carrying the weapon. He added that an investigating officer, Major Duncan Wiggins, said that Deloach fired the weapon once in the air, and once into the ground.
Tiffany Alexander reported the shots to authorities by calling 911. “I was crossing the road with my nephew and we saw them coming,” Alexander told a reporter. “We didn’t know he was shooting at first, because the traffic was so loud. Then he ran into the woods. He was not really aiming at anyone. Maybe he was just mad.”
Alexander said that she identified the man with the gun as Deloach, who she knew as “Shawn-D.”
