Dennis Seeley, who has volunteered for at least the past six years at the church’s vacation bible school, told The Cadiz Record the story. He said that the church’s pastor, John Mitchell, promised that if they beat the previous year’s attendance record of 86, he would paint his hair green. Then another volunteer, Dilman Anderson, said he would not only dye his hair pink, but would also shave his head. Seeley’s son, Dennis, also known as Denny, didn’t offer to dye his hair, but said he would shave his head and also his signature goatee. He said he would hand the clippers to Pam Mitchell, John’s wife, and let her go to work.
