With Santa’s annual trip coming up soon, The Cadiz Record dropped by the Trigg County Primary and Intermediate schools during pickup time to see what kids were asking their parents for. What follows is this short (and possibly unrepresentative) sample.

Kim Reeves said her five-year-old son, Kolton, wants a toy motorcycle and a portable basketball goal. Her two-tear-old son, Klayton, not yet old enough to be a slave to children’s television trends, is a big fan of “Scooby Doo” and “Tom and Jerry.” He wants anything related to those shows, Reeves said.

Mallory Lawrence said that her 10-year-old son, Graham, is a big “Guitar Hero” fan and would like the third edition of the popular game. He also loves tractors, so he’d probably like anything related to those as well, she said.

Terry Keith said his seven-year-old daughter, Kali Lynn wanted a puppy. John Mark Vinson said his four-year-old daughter, Jordon, also wanted a puppy. And possibly a pig. She’s watching “Charlotte’s Web” a lot lately, he said. His nine-year-old son told him he wants a dog. Vinson said he couldn’t remember what kind of dog, but said he told Jackson to write it down.

Suzanne Ledford said that her sons, Matt, 17, and Mark, 13, wanted “anything new,” especially when that related to technology.
