Sam: It was a home away from home just 45 minutes away and my parents and family can come watch me play and the team is so much like the family atmosphere I’m used to at Calloway.
TCR: You used to play baseball out at the rec. complex with the boys what did you take from that when you switched to softball?
Sam: I miss playing with the guys, but softball is much more competitive and I had to speed up my game to adjust to softball but playing baseball with the boys helped prepare me for softball.
TCR: What influenced you to play baseball and softball?
Sam: I started off in T-Ball when I was three and was pretty much stuck in baseball because Trigg County didn’t have a softball program like surrounding counties did. I traveled with the guys till I was 14 when Jerry Farris suggested I try softball I really didn’t want to but once I did I fell in love with the game and have been playing it ever since.
