Trigg County will again host the Fifth Annual Radford/Wallace Invitational Track Meet Friday at Perdue Field. Events begin at 5 p.m.

Wildcat track coach James Shelton said the meet, which is geared to smaller schools in the area, has already received promises to appear from nine other schools.

He said Murray, Mayfield, Crittenden County, Caldwell County, Russellville, Lone Oak, Ballard Memorial, Webster County, and Dawson Springs have committed to attend Friday’s meet.

Trigg County will be trying to keep their streak alive of at least one team championship in the meet’s existence.

Trigg’s girls won the team title from 2001-03, while the boys team won in 2002 and again last year.
