Revs. Kenneth Ballinger, Phillip Raley, and Barry Raley will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in the Chapel Hill Cemetery.
Rev. Young died on Sunday, February 17, 2008, at 2:40 p.m., at Jackson Purchase Medical Center.
Rev. Young was born on September 5, 1911, in Graves County. He was the son of the late Alfie and Carrie Cantrell Young.
Rev. Young was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Mayfield; was a retired Baptist Minister, ordained into the ministry on November 15, 1946, at Hopewell Baptist Church; pastored five churches for over 50 years, including Trigg County.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Verble Burnett Young; three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Helen Young of Mayfield; three daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and James Jones and Jo Ann and Jerry Raley, all from Mayfield, and Brenda and Steve Moreland of Westchester, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Wooley, Joe Lyle, John Raley, Lenny Raley, Steve Moreland, and James Jones.
