Funeral services for Rev. Wade Fulton Kennedy, 71, of Cadiz, were conducted on Sunday, September 24, 2006, at 2 p.m., at the Caldwell Blue Springs Baptist Church.

Revs. Harold Greenfield, Shoney Oliver, and Jimmy Fuller officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Caldwell Blue Spring Cemetery in Caldwell County.

Rev. Kennedy died on Thursday, September 21, 2006, at 9:02 p.m., at his residence of natural causes.

Rev. Kennedy was born on May 5, 1935, in Trigg County. He was the son of the late Durwood “Dude” and Clarice Henderson Kennedy.

Rev. Kennedy was a retired Minister; retired from Trigg County School System, where he was a Bus Driver and Cafeteria worker; was a member of Caldwell Blue Springs Baptist Church; was a member of the Cadiz Masonic Lodge #121; and a member of the Widowed Persons Group.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Mitchell Kennedy; and three brothers, Carloss Kennedy, Lucian Kennedy, and Audrey Gene Kennedy.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Fred and Lori Kennedy, and Barron and Kristi Kennedy, all of Albion, Ill.; a daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Sam Price of Barlow; five brothers, Carroll “Mac” Kennedy and James “Rod” Kennedy, both of Cadiz, Robert Kennedy of Paducah, David Kennedy of Baldwin, Mo., and Kenneth Kennedy of Hopkinsville; two sisters, Maria Routh of St. Louis, Mo., and Edna Terrell of Cadiz; a Special Friend, Ann Greene of Cadiz; 13 grandchildren, Casey Kennedy, Holly Kennedy, Mitchell Wade Turner, Heather Kennedy, Brendon Kennedy, Branden Kennedy, Violet Egan, Morgan Willett, Michael Owen, Amanda Owen, Scott Price, Rhonda Price, and Bryan Price; and three great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Stone, Kelcey Price, and Micah Price.

Serving as pallbearers were Roger Kennedy, Kenneth Kennedy, Dewight Kennedy, Tim Kennedy, Kevin Kennedy and Marc Terrell.

Honorary pallbearers were Charles Kennedy, Johnny Kennedy, Jimmy Dale Kennedy, Mike Kennedy, Barry Kennedy, Jamie Kennedy, William Starnes, Wayne Starnes, Tony Oliver, Robert Kennedy, and David Kennedy.

Kristy Smith, pianist and vocalist, Billy Barnes and Jason Barnes, vocalists provided the music.
