Mr. Johnson died Saturday, January 2, 2010, at VA Medical Center in Nashville.
He was of the Baptist faith. He was a US Army veteran, serving in WW II with the 17th Cavalry Reconnaissance Squad. He received the Purple Heart, Oakleaf Cluster, two Bronze Stars, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon, Presidental Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Taylor of Cadiz and Beverly Sue Flanagan of Woolridge, N.J.; one Son, George Johnson of Cadiz; 20 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Lee Johnson; a son, Leslie Johnson; a granddaughter, Stephanie Johnson; five brothers and one sister.
His parents were George Louis Johnson and Annie Mae (Sueade) Johnson.
