Funeral services for Rita Birdsong, 46, of Chicago, Ill., were conducted on Sunday, March 26, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz.

Rev. Jack Larwa officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Matheny Cemetery in the Kentucky portion of Land Between The Lakes.

Ms. Birdsong died on Wednesday, March 22, 2006, at 11:30 a.m., at her residence of natural causes.

Ms. Birdsong was born on October 2, 1959, in Hammond, Ind. She was the daughter of Joe Coleman Birdsong of Cadiz, and the late Belvie Jones Russell.

Ms. Birdsong was disabled, and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors, in addition to her father, include a daughter, Breanna Russell of Princeton; a brother, Joe C. Birdsong, Jr. of Cadiz; and several aunts and uncles.

Serving as pallbearers were Grant Keen, Josh Smith, Chad Grace, Kenneth Smith, Chris Keen, Brandon Childres, Robert Russell, and Jason Birdsong.

Charles Estes, Tracy Estes, Jan Dowdy, and Tonya Estes, vocalists, provided the music.
