Funeral services for Robert “Bob” Walker, 84, of Madisonville, were conducted on Monday, March 27, 2006, at 11 a.m., at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home in Madisonville.

Rev. Lon Lorton officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Mr. Walker died on Thursday, March 23, 2006, at 12 p.m., at the Princeton Health Care Manor.

Mr. Walker was born on December 14, 1921, in Lone Tree, Iowa. He was the son of the late Edwin Harvey and Eva Laverne Thomas Walker.

Mr. Walker was retired from Andalex Coal Company, where he was a tipple operator; was a member of Madisonville First Presbyterian Church; was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in WWII, where he was decorated having served in the Battle of the Bulge and European theater; was a former member of the NRA and the National Farmers Organization; worked for Pleasant View Greenhouses after he retired; and farmed several years in Iowa before moving to Ky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn Estill.

Survivors include his wife, Lottie Franklin Walker; three daughters, Barbara Holland of Cadiz, Bonnie Kington of Madisonville, and Brenda Guess of Marion; seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Madisonville First Presbyterian Church. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
