Funeral services for Robert A. “Bob” Stephens, 76, of Cadiz, will be conducted on Wednesday, October 12, 2005, at 1 p.m., with Military Honors, at Trigg County Baptist Church.

Rev. Larry Nichols will officiate at the services. Burial will follow in the East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

Mr. Stephens died on Monday, October 10, 2005, at 1:26 a.m., at his residence of natural causes.

Mr. Stephens was born on May 10, 1929, in Cadiz. He was the son of the late Stanley and Dellis Thomas Stephens.

Mr. Stephens was retired from the U.S. Army; was a lifetime member of VFW; and was a member of Trigg County Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Martha Jane Hendricks Stephens; a son, David Lee Stephens, in infancy; and a brother, William “Bill” Stephens.

Survivors include his wife, Reba L. Stephens of Cadiz; two sons, Anthony W. Stephens of Murfreesboro, Tenn., and Robert A. Stephens, Jr., of Hendersonville, Tenn.; a daughter, Debbie Alvarez of Gallatin, Tenn.; a sister, Louise Dunford of Newport News, Va.; 10 grandchildren, Lesley Mena, Jennifer Stephens-Harvey, Brent Robert Stephens, John Alvarez, David Alvarez, Daniel Alvarez, Stephanie Alvarez, Benjamin Alvarez, Jordan Alvarez, and Michael Alvarez; one great-grandchild, Alexia Dawn Alvarez-Vance.

Music will be provided by vocalists Barry and Terri Grace and Sheila Alder, who will also play the piano.

Pallbearers will be Barry Grace, Tim Stevens, Bill Stevens, Jr., Ed Alder, Buddy Boswell and Mike Broadbent.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pennyroyal Hospice, 101 West 18th Street, Hopkinsville, KY 42240.
