Funeral services for Ronnie Duane “Door Knob” Hughes were conducted on Saturday, September 8, 2007, at 1 p.m. at Myers Funeral Home.

Revs. Brad Hall and Richard Gardner officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Mapleview Cemetery, in Marion, KY.

Mr. Hughes died on Sunday, September 2, 2007, at 7:15 a.m. at his residence.

Mr. Hughes was born August 30, 1939, in Crittenden County Kentucky. He was the son of the late Virgil and Cloyce Stephenson Hughes.

Mr. Hughes was retired from Smith Contracting Company. He was a member of the Deer Creek Baptist Church. He served 15 years as Marion City Council Member. He served on the PADD and PACS board representing the City of Marion.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Hughes, of Marion, one son, Ronald Dane Hughes, of Cadiz, one step son, Jamison Belt, of Hot Springs, AK, three brothers, Denton Hughes, of Tampa, FL, Nelson Hughes, of Marion, and Douglas Hughes, of Ashburn, GA and two grandchildren.
