Funeral services for Roy Goodwin, 79, of Hopkinsville, formerly of Cerulean, were held Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Revs. Don Mock and Irvin Darnall officiated. Interment followed at Cerulean Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers were Jerry Hammond, Brandon Goodwin, Greg Goodwin, Jon Goodwin, Triston Goodwin, Steve Williamson, Stewart Goodwin and Kent Goodwin. Honorary pallbearers were Kyle Williamson, Brad Williamson, Cody Farmer, Derek Goodwin, Kenny Goodwin, Gene Rogers and Corey Goodwin.

Mr. Goodwin died Sunday, March 14, 2010, at Lourdes Hospital in Paducah.

He was a farmer and a member of Kelly Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Martha Anne Goodwin of Christian County; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Willard Hammond of Bardwell and Connie and Carlos Narviez of Hopkinsville; four sons and daughters-in-law, Rex Goodwin of Cerulean, Danny and Melody Goodwin of Cerulean, Ron and Sherry Goodwin of Bardwell and Bob Goodwin of Savannah, Ga.; one step-daughter, Kristy (Farmer) Lamirande of Christian County; two step-sons, Alan Farmer of Christian County and Jason (and wife Kathy) Farmer of Hopkinsville; one sister, Irene Holloway of Hopkinsville; two brothers, Herman Goodwin of Hopkinsville and Robert “Jack” Goodwin of Cerulean; 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by father John Amos Goodwin and mother Vera (Owen) Goodwin, first wife of 50 years Cora Sue Goodwin, son Ricky Ross Goodwin, brothers Raymond “Preacher” Goodwin and Walter “Watt” Goodwin, sisters Sue Holloway and Louise Rogers and step-son-Michael Scott Farmer.
