Mrs. Broadbent died following a short illness at 11:35 a.m. Monday, January 10, 2011 at Shady Lawn Nursing Home.
She was born January 30, 1929 in Trigg County to the late Homer C. Henderson and Mamie Stallons Henderson.
She was a member of the Cerulean Baptist Church. She was co-owner and operator of Kentucky Farm Bureau in Trigg County where she served as secretary and bookkeeper. She also worked as a bookkeeper for Broadbent Real Estate.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin W. Broadbent, Jr.; and one brother, Emmett Henderson.
Survivors include one brother, Don Pool of Cadiz; two sisters, Marie P’Pool and Betty Thomas, both of Cadiz; two daughters, Yvonne Broadbent Clayton of Cadiz and Cheryl Broadbent Bowers (and husband Mike) of Cadiz; one-step daughter, Janice Walker of Cadiz; two grandchildren, Sarah Bowers Emerson (and husband Alan) of Henderson and Kathryn “Katie” Bowers of Bowling Green; three step grandchildren, Jodi Wilson of Cadiz, Amy Serrano of Bowling Green and Jason Walker of Afghanistan; four step-great grandchildren and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Sons, Jeff Broadbent, Mike McGill, Cameron Sumner, Jonathan King and Don Ray Pool. Music will be provided by Sarah Bowers Emerson, pianist, Samantha and Jeremy Butts, vocalist, and Clarissa King, pianist.
