Those who would rather have their Halloween fun concentrated in one area than to go slumming from street to street are in luck again this year. Renaissance on Main will once again host Halloween Safe Night downtown at 5 p.m. on Oct. 31.

Renaissance on Main Director Cindy Sholar said the evening would consist of many activities, including a carnival, and apple-bobbing contest, a storyteller and a haunted house. Many downtown businesses will also have booths where they will be handing out treats.

Sholar said that the event has grown a little every year with more and more families with small children to join in the fun. She said it is a great chance for families to enjoy themselves without a lot of hassle. She said the Cadiz Fire Department also brings their truck downtown every year, which the kids always enjoy. The night is a fun tradition that children will likely remember when they are older.

“It’s not about how much candy they get, but that life experience that they can remember in their adult years,” Sholar said.
