Preliminary reports indicate that Kentucky residents enjoyed a relatively safe Thanksgiving holiday while on state roads, according to Kentucky Highway Department statistics. Trigg County avoided weekend tragedy with no holiday fatalities reported.

Highway Department statistics report eight fatalities in eight separate incidents in the reporting period from last Wednesday through Sunday. At least four victims were not using seatbelts, with a fifth described as unknown. Three fatalities involved the use of alcohol.
