Funeral services for Sallie Wadlington Choat, 81, of Cadiz, were conducted on Sunday, December 3, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Goodwin Funeral Home.

Revs. Dewey Dick and Gray Snyder officiated at the services. Burial followed in the Wadlington Cemetery in Trigg County.

Mrs. Choat died on Thursday, November 30, 2006, at 12:10 p.m., at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

Mrs. Choat was born on February 16, 1925, in Trigg County. She was the daughter of the late Ben Johnson and Mary Belle Ledford Wadlington.

Mrs. Choat was a homemaker; a Charter Member of the New Hope Baptist Church; and a member of the Linton Homemakers, and Quilters Guild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Samuel Choat; and four brothers, Paul J. Wadlington, Bobby Wadlington, Earl Douglas “Bill” Wadlington, and Thomas Clayton Wadlington.

Survivors include a son, Harvey Clayton Choat of Cadiz; daughter and son-in-law, Glenda and Don Herndon of Cadiz; two brothers, Ernest “Buck” Wadlington and Richard Wadlington, both of Cadiz; sister, Lucille LaBonte of Royal Palm Beach, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Nancy Choat of Palm Beach Co., Fla.; three grandchildren, Cari Choat, Rebecca Ricks, and Melissa Capodanno; great-grandchildren, Zachary Aaron Herndon and Kacie Lynn Ricks; step great-grandchildren, Zachary Scott Ricks and Zane Curtis Ricks.

Becky Freeman, vocalist, and Barbara Jean Futrell, pianist, provided the music.

Serving as pallbearers were Chris Smith, Richard Wadlington, Jr., Jerry Williams, Marc Frye, Jeff Ricks, Lance Stallons, Zachary Herndon, and Kacie Ricks.

Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Williams, Scott Sivills, and James Terrell.
