Funeral services for Sammy Oliver, 58, of Princeton, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at Morgan’s Funeral Home in Princeton, with visitation at 11 a.m.

Rev. Bobby Dean Cotton will officiate, with burial to follow at Eddy Creek Church Cemetery.

Mr. Oliver passed away at 3 p.m. Monday, May 25, 2009 at Western Baptist Hospital in Paducah after a short illness.

Mr. Oliver was born Feb. 19, 1951 in Lyon County. He was a truck driver for a logging company and attended Fairview Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include his sister, Vickie Woods of Cadiz; a sister-in-law, Ethel Oliver of Princeton; three nieces, one nephew and several great nieces and nephews.

Mr. Oliver was preceded in death by a brother, Lether S. Oliver, Jr.; a half-brother, Charles Edward Ferguson; and a brother-in-law, Robert Woods. His parents were Lether Standard Oliver, Sr., and Sammie Charlene Gilkey Oliver.
