In the following week, locals will have several musical opportunities to get into the Christmas spirit.

There will be three different Christmas concerts at Trigg County High School’s Little Theater, starting tomorrow at 7 p.m. with a concert from the Intermediate School Choir and the Middle/High School Choir. These will be followed by a concert from the Trigg County High School Band on Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock and a concert from the middle school band Monday at 7 p.m.

Choir director Laura Grigson said that the Intermediate choir is made up of 54 students while the other choir, consisting of both middle and high school students, totals about 30. Both choirs will be singing songs everyone knows and a few they may be unfamiliar with. She said the Intermediate choir would be singing “The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don’t Be Late),” “I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus,” “Nuttin’ For Christmas,” “All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth,” “Children Go Where I Send Thee,” and a song called “C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S.” They will also sing a medley of “O Tannenbaum/Our Lovely Christmas Tree.”

The Middle/High School Choir will be singing “Mary Had a Baby,” “Rise Up Shepard and Follow,” “Little Saint Nick,” “Peaceful Silent Night,” “Up On the Housetop with Jolly Old Elf,” as well as the Beach Boys classic, “Little Saint Nick.”

Finally, the choirs will combine and more than 80 children will sing several songs together. Grigson said they would sing “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town,” “The 12 Days of Christmas,” and an amusing follow-up song about what to do with the gifts after the 12 days are over.
