The Trigg County board of Education met Monday in a special called meeting to approve a buildings and grounds form and for the annual superintendent evealuation.

The authorization of the form was necessary because of an electrical short that occurred at the elementary school building in late October. Superintendent Tim McGinnis said that the board had to meet to authorize him to sign the form, also called the BG1, so it could be faxed to Frankfort Tuesday morning.

“We need to move as quickly as we can,” McGinnis said.

McGinnis said the total cost of repairs would be $106,000. This includes the total estimated construction cost of $87,950, an engineer fee of $12,423 and a 6.4 percent contingency of $5,627.
