For the fourth year, Trigg County Schools will be hosting a Meet and Greet at the school cafeteria. The event will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Aug. 27.

Community Education Coordinator Brenda Southwick said that the district invites businesses and organizations to set up booths to tell families of students how they benefit the community. Southwick said that if the organization offers services the students or parents need, they can find out about them early in the year this way. She said the district always gives out door prizes and pamphlets about the schools at the event.

Southwick said that 29 different organizations set up tables last year for the Meet and Greet, in which a pancake and sausage supper will be served. She said a total of 376 people came last year, which included 176 parents.

“It’s not as many as we want, but it has grown each year,” she said.

For organizations wishing to take part, forms must be returned to the board office by Aug. 20. They can be picked up at the office at 202 Main Street.
