Sumner said the old Web site had been in the same format for about five or six years and was only modified by the district’s webmaster, Erin Eagleson. About a year ago, Sumner and others began talking about redesigning the Web site, she said. After intermittently working on the plans since that time, she decided shortly after Christmas that it was time to push to finish it. So she called the Web designer, John Pettit of Johnboy Production in Murray, and he finished with the site in less than a month.
The address is now www.trigg.kyschools.us. Besides the change in the site’s design, the biggest change is that district staff members besides Eagleson will have access to specific areas of the site. For example, instead of Eileen Kehrwald, secretary to the superintendent, having to submit minutes of board meetings for Web publication, she can post them herself. This will apply to all the board’s other business and to the business of all four schools. This way, the information on the site will be much more timely and accurate than when one person had to take care of everything, Sumner said.
