Kathy Hyde manages the Trigg County school cafeteria, which is located in the middle school and serves all three schools. She said that the program had been offered from June 1 to June 16 because that was when summer school was in session.
Hyde said the service was valuable for the county’s children because there are many kids who don’t get nutritious, balanced meals at home during the summer. She said that lunch and breakfast had been provided every weekday morning to anyone at all who wanted to eat.
“Anybody off the street from age zero to 18 can come and eat,” she said.
