Seventh graders off to 3-0 start

Trigg County Middle School began their boys’ basketball season by winning four of their first six games, including three straight by the seventh graders.

TCMS opened their 2004-05 season with a 56-21 win at Christian Fellowship Middle Oct. 22.

The Midcats jumped out to a 20-5 lead after one quarter and outscored the Eagles 16-0 in the third quarter.

Dustin White led the Midcats with 13 points, Zeke Wright added 11.

Ryan Acree and Jay Jolly each scored eight points, followed by Jordan P’Pool with six.

The seventh grade also posted an easy victory, winning 49-24.

Zeke Wright had 24 points to lead TCMS, while Jalin Ladd scored five, and R. J. Sholar, Andre Wright, and Javin Grubbs each scored four points.

The eighth grade team lost 33-31 at Dawson Springs despite holding the Panthers scoreless in the third quarter.

Ryan Acree led the Midcats with 16 points, while Josh Adams scored six, and Zeke Wright scored five.

Trigg County shot just 12-of-24 at the free throw line in the game.

The seventh grade had no trouble in their game, drilling Dawson 51-7.

Trigg led 19-0 after one quarter and 30-4 at halftime. Dawson Springs did not score in the fourth quarter.

Zeke Wright led Trigg with 23 points, while Ragon Stewart scored seven, and Jalin Ladd scored six points.

The eighth graders saw their record drop to 1-2 on the season with a 51-20 loss at Lyon County Oct. 26.

Trigg County was shutout in the first quarter and trailed 22-11 at halftime.

Zeke Wright had five points for Trigg County, and Ryan Acree added four.

Ramsey Walker led Lyon County with 17 points.

TCMS easily won the seventh grade game 38-18 to push their record to 3-0 on the season.

Zeke Wright led Trigg County with 19 points, while Andre Wright scored five and Josh Adams three points.

Trigg County’s boys return to action Thursday at Midcat Gym against Livingston Central Middle at 5:30 p.m.

The Trigg County girls play at Lyon County Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.
