Rev. J.R. Bruce, assisted by Rev. Dale Ford, officiated at the services. Burial followed in Sugar Creek Church Cemetery.
Mr. Board died on Sunday, August 13, 2006, at 6:56 a.m., at Caldwell County Hospital following a short illness.
Mr. Board was born on August 13, 1918, in Caldwell County. He was the son of the late Andy and Ethel McGregor Board.
Mr. Board was a retired custodian at Caldwell County Schools, and attended Sugar Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Morse Board.
Survivors include a daughter, LaNell Lax of Caldwell County; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Melissa and John Ortt of Princeton and Jennifer and Ryan Akers of Santa Clause, Ind.; and a sister, Geneva Baker of Princeton.
