Funeral services for Shelvia (Curling) Bridges, 71, of Hopkinsville, formerly of Trigg County, were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2009, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz, with Jamus Redd officiating. Burial followed at Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Trigg County.

Bridges passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 6, 2009, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center in Hopkinsville of natural causes.

She was born on Sunday, April 10, 1938, in Trigg County, to the late Paul Curling and the late Larline (Lyons) Curling.

A member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, she retired from the Trigg County Clerk’s Office, where she served as the deputy clerk.

Aside from her parents, Bridges was preceded in death by her brother Billy Earl Curling and her sister Margaret Hillman.

Survivors include her special friend Larry Meredith of Hopkinsville, her sons and daughters in law Ricky and Tammy Bridges and David Paul and Leslie Bridges of Cadiz, as well as her step son David Armstrong of Hopkinsville, her step daughter and sons in law Jennifer and Larry Plants of Hopkinsville and Tracey and Johnnie Wagoner of Hopkinsville.

She is also survived by her grandchildren Bridget and Alan Ray Skinner, Kyle Bridges, Zackary Bridges and Colten Bridges, her step grandchildren Meredith Keller, Cheyenne Maxey, Maddison McKay, Kaitlyn McKay, Jonathan Wagoner and Kaitlin Wagoner.
