PRINCETON – Despite the rain that filled last week, the Christian Sports Camp brought to Caldwell County by the biggest South Carolina mission team ever organized by their churches was a great success.

The camp was attended and supported by several Trigg County residents.

First Baptist Church of Fountain Inn and Capstone Baptist, lead by Johnny Dyer, came with 91 men, women and youth, staying at Bright Life Sunday thru Friday, coordinating and leading the soccer, basketball, and volleyball camps. This may become an annual event.

This team from South Carolina brought the third home up, covering the newly dug basement and standing the studs in 2007 and came back in 2008 to put the siding on. It is usual for visiting mission teams to return to Bright Life for a second and third mission and we credit God for the Spirit of love and worship that is present at the Farm. Bright Life is a Christian, faith-based mission.

While the camps were in session, other members of the mission team organized to give fellowship and VBS at Bright Life for the residents and exciting group activities. Another team brought and prepared wonderful meals each day. Additionally, a building team within this group worked on the new home and maintenance projects on the farm and in the two occupied homes.

When our South Carolina friends left, there were porch railing up and sidewalks down, a major move forward toward finishing the home and preparing for the opening of this third house. Shutters, gutters, some appliances and house furnishings are still on the list of projects pending. Bright Life is a licensed group home, but non-profit, so any donations are tax deductible. Eight additional rooms/baths will be available for special adults when it is complete, enlarging the Bright Life family from the 16 currently living there to 24. Applications are being taken for residency now.

Within God’s timeline, the home will be opened this fall.
