Linda Sanders at Preacher’s Barbecue and Portia Ezell at Eldora’s Bookstore reported that they did not hear the siren at their Marion Street businesses in downtown Cadiz.
Closer to the siren, located at Lafayette Street and Midway Road, Kim Broadbent of Trigg County Manor said that she did not hear the siren either.
Sadie Johnson at Washer’s IGA told the Cadiz Record that she asked a customer and a fellow employee at her store about the siren. Again the alert signal went unheard.
A nurse at Trigg County Hospital said, “I heard some kind of siren shortly before noon.”
Mallory Lawrence of Hancock’s Neighborhood Market said that she was out of her store for the first test. “I made a point to stop and listen at three, but couldn’t hear a thing.”
