Board of Education member Marc Terrell made an announcement to run for Judge-Executive last week and highlighted “moving forward” as his bid for the county’s top seat will force him to face off against City Police Chief Hollis Alexander in the May Democratic Primary.

Terrell, 37, and Alexander, 38, will be two of the youngest candidates to run in recent times for the county’s top seat. That youth, Terrell said, is something that he is looking forward to implementing, if he were elected.

“We feel that a younger person bringing youth into this, that’s got an opportunity to take our county forward,” Terrell said after his announcement Thursday at the Trigg County Recreational Complex.
