Mrs. Chambliss died at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2009 at Trigg County Hospital after a long illness.
Mrs. Chambliss was born Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1937 in Martin, Ky. She was the daughter of the George Ratliff and Lula (Hall) Ratliff.
She was retired from Homes of Merit in Lake City, Fla., and was a volunteer for the Elks Lodge in Lake City, Fla., and was also a volunteer and supporter of the Guardian ad Litem Foundation.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sister in law Basil Ray and Iolene Ratliff and her brother in law James Sexton.
Survivors include her daughters Pamela Fain Mendoza of Lake City, Fla., Leah McKay of Cadiz, Kimberly Dortch of Lake City, Fla., Mary Sue Currie of St. Louis, Mo., and her son Greg Fain of Palm Desert, Calif.
She is also survived by her sisters Patsy Sexton of Cadiz and Marietta Sue Howard of Mansfield, Ohio, by her brother Jerry Dean Ratliff of Martin, Ky., by her grandchildren Jason L. Dortch, Skyler M House, Anna Louise Mendoza. Heide Rebeca Mendoza-Yarbourgh and Kimberly Leann Mendoza, by her great granddaughter Karissa Orianna Sheppard, by her nieces Sharon Sexton and Peachie Connley and by her nephew Shawn Campbell.
