Funeral services for Ruby Thelma Banister Lancaster, 89, of Gallatin, Tenn., formerly of Trigg County, were held Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home in Cadiz. The Rev. Kevin Roberts officiated. Burial followed in the East End Cemetery in Cadiz.

Mrs. Lancaster died of natural causes at 12:47 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at Golden Living Center in Gallatin, Tenn.

She was born February 7, 1922 in Trigg County to the late Henry Jackson and Australia Evangeline Carpenter Banister.

She was a member of the Cadiz Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arrice H. Lancaster; two sisters, Blanche Freeman and Edith Campbell; and one son, Jackie Lancaster.

Survivors include two sisters, Jean Bush of McKinney, Texas and Caroline Ricks of Cadiz; one son Donnie Ray Lancaster (and wife Betty Mae) of Gracey; one daughter, Brenda Ham (and husband John) of Hendersonville, Tenn.; eight grandchildren Carey Don and Sheri Lancaster, Judy Vier, Trudy and Kevin Carr, Cheri Patterson, Christi Champion and Jackie Neal Lancaster, Jr.; and eleven great grandchildren, Rachel Sidebottom, Alex Carr, Chance Lancaster, Hannah Lancaster, Josie Carr, Keirston Candler, Micah Candler, Maci Candler, Brennan Champion, Tad Patterson and Callie Mathis.

Pallbearers were Micah Candler, John Ham, Kevin Carr, Carey Don Lancaster, Chance Lancaster, Gayle Outland and David Wells.

Music was provided by Anna Dobbs, vocalist, and Gary Thompson, organist.
