The driver, Joseph C. McCoy, 26, of Louisville, was traveling east on East Ross School Road at about 7:40 p.m. when a deer jumped in the way of his vehicle, and after he tried to avoid the deer he lost control of the vehicle and ran off of the road, went down an embankment and hit a tree, Paull wrote.
One passenger, Donald W. Box, 38, of Louisville, was flown via PHI air medical to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for treatment, while McCoy and the other passenger, Kenneth McCoy, 38, of Cadiz were taken via Trigg County Ambulance Service to Trigg County Hospital, said Paull.
The KSP were assisted at the scene by the ambulance service as well as the Trigg County Sheriff’s Department and Trigg County Fire and Rescue.
