“I’m not sure if we will be naming a director,” said Rufli. “We’re waiting for some responses now.”
The Tourism Commission narrowed a field of 57 applicants to 12 finalists at a meeting in August. Rufli and commissioners conducted interviews with the finalists in the latter part of last month.
The commission sought applicants and has been conducting a selection process and interviews since former Director Charles Simpson retired July 1.
The Commission plans to offer a salary between $32,000 and $37,000 to an applicant, with benefits such as health care and retirement to be negotiated.
