At Monday night’s Trigg County Recreation Complex Board meeting, Complex Board Chairman Ralph Thomas announced his resignation.

In his resignation letter, Thomas wrote, “After serving four years on this Board, I am a firm believer that this Board really serves no purpose other than receiving complaints from the community and be the source of questionable decisions.” Thomas added he thinks the board should be involved in budget management decisions.

Recreation Complex Manager Eldridge Rogers said Thomas cited health and “having irons in too many fires” as reasons for his resignation.

Rogers also said that as the board was one member short of a quorum, there was no business after that announcement.

The board will have to “wait and see” who Trigg County Judge Executive Stan Humphries and the Trigg County Fiscal Court will pick as the new Complex Board Chairman, said Rogers, who added that he believes an interim chairman might also have to be picked by the court.
