The Trigg County Hospital Auxiliary celebrated another year of service to the community during their annual luncheon at the Cadiz Christian Church Fellowship Hall on May 9.

Originally formed in the early 1960s by Mrs. Cleland White II, the Auxiliary was reorganized in 1979 by Ray Lazar and Kathleen B. Magraw. Special recognition was given to associate members Wilma Green and Elaine Sanders for thirty years of dedicated service to the community. Five-year pins were awarded to Grace Coyle, Gloria Davis, Jane Ann Pace, Alice Propst and Sandy Weber.

Representing the hospital at the luncheon were CEO Lisa Coleman and Administrative Assistant Jody Brewer. Ms. Coleman praised the continuing efforts of the auxiliary to serve the hospital and its patients. She stated that the Auxiliary had donated over $88,000 in equipment and services over the years, including, most recently, a new food cart and a baby scale.

The Kidcats, the Trigg County School choir under the direction of Laura Grigson, provided the auxiliary with a delightful musical interlude after lunch.

Auxiliary President Barbara Dunn, Treasurer Mary Belk, Membership Chair Patsy Rajnowski and Memorial Fund Co-Chair Dannye Wagner presented a review of the activities and successful fund raising efforts of the past year. President Dunn thanked the hospital staff and the community for their continued support of the Gift Box and other auxiliary fund raising efforts, including the Memorial Fund.

True to their commitment of service to the hospital, Auxiliary volunteer hours continued to grow with an 8-percent increase in five years. Recognition of hours served were as follows: 200-hour pins to Mary Belk, Barbara Dunn, and Lisa Strader; 100-hour pins were awarded to Pat Board, Johnetta Brooks, Gloria Davis, Mary Alice Elm, Pat Fritsch, Joan Griesemer, Patsy Rajnowski, Dannye Wagner and Sandy Weber.

Membership rolls also continue to grow. President Dunn awarded Hospital Auxiliary pins to five new members. Honored at the luncheon were Christine Cain, Malita Hardin Dorothy Mitchell, Anna Mullen and Margie Olech.
