After two months of searching, the Primary Care Clinic at Trigg County Hospital has a director. Dr. Catherine Galla will be the clinic’s director and physician beginning “in the middle of September,” according to hospital CEO Lisa Coleman.

According to a hospital press release, Galla graduated with honors from the University of Louisville in 1989, and completed her residency at the University of Kentucky in 1998.

Coleman said that Galla has experience in the fields of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.

Hospital Board of Directors Michael Gross said, “We are really fortunate to get Dr. Galla. She was first in her graduating class and her knowledge of medicine is good. We did good this time.”

Coleman also said that Galla “filled the void” left by the departure of Dr. Alan Briones in June. “She is passionate about taking care of patients and anxious to get started in Trigg County.”

The exact date on which Galla will begin working was undecided, according to Coleman, due to ongoing contract negotiations.

Coleman also announced that a second nurse practitioner would be hired to work at the Primary Care Clinic as well.
