Trigg defeats Caldwell indistrict play

Trigg County evened its record on the season to 4-4 Friday night following a 35-23 win over longtime rival Caldwell County at Perdue Field. With the win, Trigg County also won the regular-season district championship and claimed home field advantage in the playoffs. The Wildcats, thanks to the win over Caldwell County on Friday night, will be at home for at least the first two rounds of the playoffs. The district title is the third straight championship for the Wildcats.

Brandon Bridges led the way for Trigg County on the offensive side. Bridges, one of the area’s top running backs, rushed for 194 yards via 21 carries. The Trigg County running back helped to put Trigg County over the top with second half scoring. Bridges found the endzone for each of Trigg County’s last two touchdowns.

As a team, Trigg County rushed for 268 yards.

Trigg County toted a 14-9 lead into halftime and pulled away in the second half.
