Jonathan King, playing at much less than 100 percent, led the team with 21 points followed by “Mookie” Burress with 17, and Jalik Alexander chipping in 8.
The Lyons came out ready to strike running the Wildcats in to a deep hole with a 20-8 first period. The Wildcats would not get their first score till 5:06 mark in the Quarter when Burress would hit 2 free throws.
Burress would get the next Trigg Points of the quarter as well with a three pointer at the 1:30 Mark. Shortly after that Jonathan King would get his first points of the game on a Bucket and a free throw. At the end of the first quarter the Wildcats would be looking up at the Lyons holding a shovel and realizing how deep a hole they were in.
King and Burress would open the 2nd Quarter on the offensive and help Trigg outscore the Lyons by two in the quarter 14-12. Burress had 6 of his 17 points in the game in the 2nd quarter. This quarter would take a slower pace but Jonathan king seemed like a shell of his normal self coming off a hospital stay for pneumonia just two days earlier. At the half the Lyons would go in up by 10 32-22.
The Wildcats had whittled a 37-26 lead in the third quarter down to 46-40 at the end of the third quarter.
A three-pointer and a three-Point Play by “Mookie” Burress in the quarter would bolster the rallying Wildcats. Jonathan King would put in 10 points in the quarter including two from three-point range.
