Trigg County sandwiched a tie around a pair of shutout losses last week to see their season slate fall to 3-6-1.

The Wildcats fell to Caldwell County 2-0 Sept. 30 at the Complex to see their district record drop to 0-3 on the season.

Trigg County’s defense continued to show off it’s recent improvement by battling the Tigers (9-3-2) to a scoreless tie at halftime.

However, Jordan Singleton scored 11 minutes into the second half to give the Tigers a 1-0 lead.

Morris added another goal 10 minutes later to seal the game for Caldwell, who limited Trigg to just five shots. Tiger goalie Andrew Crowell made two saves.

Wildcat goalie Brent Wietting saved 12 of the 14 shots he saw in the contest.

Caldwell County also won the J.V. game 3-1.

Nick Woodruff scored his second hat trick of the season, but the Wildcats managed only a 3-3 tie at Muhlenberg North Sept. 28.

Woodruff’s goals give him 13 for the season, which ties him with Josh Cain for tenth most in a season.

However, the Wildcats let a chance at a win slip away against the Stars, who are 3-9-3 on the season.

It was the first game between the schools since 1998.

The tie was Trigg County’s first since a 1-1 weather-shortened tie at Warren East in 2000.

The Wildcats opened the week with a 6-0 loss at Fort Campbell in game rescheduled from August.

The Falcons (7-4-2) scored two goals in the first half and salted the contest away with four second half goals.

Fort Campbell outshot Trigg 20-12, with Brent Wietting making 15 saves in goal for the Wildcats.

The Falcons have won 20 of the 21 career meetings with the Wildcats dating back to 1992.

Fort Campbell won the J.V. game 1-0 with Jamus McAtee making 14 saves in goal for the Wildcats.

Trigg County will host Muhlenberg North Thursday at 7 p.m. for Senior Night at the Complex.

Their final regular season game is Tuesday at Russellville.
