Trigg County recorded its largest offensive output in over two weeks but still lost against University Heights on Thursday. That was in between a pair of blowout losses against Caldwell County and Hopkinsville.

Last Tuesday, the Lady Wildcats committed eight errors and recorded only one hit – a single by Morgan Parker – in a three-inning 15-0 loss at Caldwell.

Trigg then lost 16-6 against UHA. The Lady Blazers batted around and scored nine times in the first. The Lady ‘Cats trimmed the gap to 9-5 in the second inning, but UHA plated seven more runs in the next two innings to take control.

Sierra Bush finished with two singles, a walk and two runs scored. Parker drove in a run with a triple, and Allison Greene had Trigg’s only other hit.

Trigg took an early lead Friday against Hopkinsville but then allowed nine runs in the second inning. Parker had an RBI double that scored Ashley McGee, and Bush and Brianna Messmer added singles. Trigg committed 12 errors in the contest.

Lauren Daniel pitched complete games for Trigg in each contest.

Trigg hosts Paducah Tilghman and will honor lone senior Taylor Furr on Thursday before closing the regular season schedule Friday at Russellvile. The 5th District Tournament begins Monday (see story on page B4).
