Trigg runs at Christian County Invitational

Trigg County runners competed Saturday in the 37th Annual Christian County Invitational cross country meet.

Leading the way for Trigg was Lynease Byers, who finished eighth in the varsity girls race with a time of 21:42.29.

For the Wildcats, Romaine Cunningham had the best finish of the day, taking 18th in 18:42.82. Also running for Trigg were Jakelze Martin (58th, 20:25.68), Garrett Brown (79th, 21:27.01) and Jake Mitchell (107th, 24:08.21).

Debo Mayes had Trigg’s best finish in the middle school boys race, finishing fourth in 16:11.91. Other Midcat runners included Brien Dossett (18th, 17:19.82) and J.B. Hendricks (22nd, 17:32.86).

Alex Olin competed for the Lady Midcats in the girls middle school race, taking ninth in 19:06.05.

Trigg’s best individual finish of the day came in the elementary school boys race, which Ethan Dossett won in 10:37.30. Other Trigg runners were Reagan Hyde (fifth, 11:57.21), Sebastian Skinner (sixth, 12:43.92) and Rimington Gavlik (13th, 16:29.84).

In the elementary girls race, Jordan Woodall (13:20.69), Anna Morgan (13:31.87) and Kayla Bingham (13:35.55) finished two-three-four for Trigg, and Emily Andreina took 10th with a time of 16:43.85.
