Trigg County won three out of four events. The Ironcat uses the totals from each team’s top eleven lifters. Trigg took first in deadlift with a combined lift of 6085 pounds, which set a meet record, and beat out the nearest school by more than 500 lbs. Madisonville North Hopkins set the previous team deadlift record of 6035 lbs in 2005. Trigg County also took top honors in bench press, 3040 lbs, and squat, 4360. Powerclean was the only lift where Trigg did not dominate. However, they still earned third place honors and were barely edged out by second place, Hopkinsville High, by twenty-five points and first place, Hopkins Central, by just sixty points. Trigg’s top powerclean lifts came from Brandon Bridges, 240 lbs; Scotty Mayes, 240 lbs; Antonio Grubbs, 235 lbs; Donald Bush, 230 lbs; Dustin Calhoun, 225 lbs; Roque Perez, 215 lbs; Zach White, 205; A.J. Oliver, 205; Drew Pool, 200; Jay Moore, 195; and Sean Beebe, 195.
