The driver, Lucy Hauke, 19, of Princeton, was driving east on Wallonia Road at about 6 p.m. last Tuesday when she couldn’t navigate a curve in the road, and her vehicle, a 1997 Chrysler Van, ran off the left side of the road, struck an earthen embankment and went down the ditch before stopping, Duvall wrote.
Hauke and Ashley Waltz, 19, of Hopkinsville, suffered minor injuries and were treated at, and released from, Trigg County Hospital, while the other two passengers, Jayden Hauke, 4 months old, of Princeton, and Lilly Goodwin, 2, also of Princeton, were uninjured, the report stated.
While the two small children were in proper child restraints, neither Hauke nor Waltz were wearing seat belts, the report indicated.
Duvall, who was assisted at the scene by Trigg County Emergency Medical Service, continues his investigation.
